5,000+ images, wood and plexiglas box
In the realm of social networks, where images play a central role, each profile requires the account holder to upload a profile picture. The picture becomes a silent testament to the absence of an image.
The visual vocabulary that was created became an integral part of our understanding of the web and has since become a key element of our visual language. Since the inception of social media, digital platforms have provided users with a space for infinite possibilities and labour.
In this project, icon images have been collected, catalogued, and transferred into printed form, keeping their original resolution and size. In an endeavour to understand the scale of their production and variety, I have shown the collection in an open wooden box.
