‘Nel mezzo del cammin di nostra vita
mi ritrovai per una selva oscura
ché la diritta via era smarrita.

Ahi quanto a dir qual era è cosa dura
esta selva selvaggia e aspra e forte
che nel pensier rinova la paura!’

Dante, Canto 1 Inferno, Divina Commedia

Contrappasso is an ongoing project exploring the complex relationship between man and nature, highlighting their inherent tensions and paradoxes. Drawing inspiration from Dante's concept of contrappasso, it examines the intricate dynamics between the artificial and the natural, considering how this coexistence manifests in our surroundings.

Visually, the landscape around me serves as both a stage and a battleground for this tension, as I collect traces of how these elements coexist, interact, and sometimes disrupt one another.

The resulting imagery captures this interplay, sometimes showing both mystical and mysterious dimensions within the struggle.
